My screenplay

Ok my topic is a screenplay, or possibly just a play. My reasoning for this is because it has been a long time since I have written either and I believe it could be a fun challenge for me. What I know about the genre is that I have to focus more on dialogue and on explaining shots or scene only briefly as a third party. The hardest part, however, will be in describing where a camera should be and when to fade in or out. It is great detail, but not in the way I am used to. I'm used to trying to show not tell, this is trying to tell how to show. I am rather opposite of that style so I think this will be interesting for me. My apologies on the bibliography and user's guide, I'll have them posted within the hour.

Annotated Bib.
Tucker, Thomas. The Lily and the Lotus: Written November 1, 2002.

Leven, Jeremy. The Legend of Bagger Vance: Produced by Robert Redford in 2000.

This was rather difficult because screenplays are technically not published. I just finished reading the screenplay to Bagger Vance and the other is a screenplay written by my Uncle Tom, who used to be a producer.

In terms of a user's guide:
Step one:
create a web or some kind of notes page.
-on this page you must create a concept for your storyline.

Step Two:
Take your story just one small scene at a time. First write out the scene, preferably no longer than five minutes just to get a feeling of the genre.

Step Three:
Re-write this scene, using only dialogue.

Step Four:
Slowly explain to the reader or audience what they hear in the scene including the dialogue.

Step Five:
Now slowly begin to describe how and what you wish for the audience to see. Think of this part as unraveling a gift. You want to do so in the best way to create tension and excitement for the audience.

Step Six:
Apply descriptions of where the camera is located and what it sees, to an extent.

Step Seven:
Repeat as needed until you have the desired length to each scene. Then combine these scenes to create your final Work of art.

IMPORTANT:
DO NOT get too caught up in the ideas of special affects, it will be easy to lose your actual story and end up with nothing.

Sorry this took me so long Professor, I assure you that by the end of the weekend I'll have all of the wikiposts updated and I will do my best to not fall behind again. Thank you for reminding me of all of this and sending the e-mail, it was the fire under my butt that I needed. I hope you are not too disappointed in me and I hope I can recover your trust in me as a student and learner. Thanks for everything, and again I'm so sorry.

A little vague. What do you know and want to know about the genre?
I should be looking at an Annotated Bibliography and User's Guide. :(
